Join us for wine training at a WSET Level 1 course in the south of France. This course is designed to advance your skills and wine knowledge with an expert-led, GUEST-approved wine training course. We run our courses for yacht crew professionals in the French Riviera.
An introduction to wine
The perfect and most straight forward introduction to wine for those new to the industry or indeed wanting to better understand the fundamentals of grape growing, wine making, the main grape varieties, storage and service and food & wine pairing, with an emphasis on the practical. No experience or other qualifications are required to attend this course – it is also great fun!
One the course you will learn :
- The key stages in grape growing and winemaking
- The types, characteristics and styles of wines made from the principal grape varieties and other examples of wines.
- The key principles and practices involved in the storage and service of wine.

Course Information
Course Pre-requisite: No previous qualification required so anyone can join us for this course.
GUEST Program: Accredited as GUEST Program Specialist Unit 12.
Course Length: 1 full day (09h00 – 17h30) with a short exam at the end.

Course Educators
With the continued and overwhelming success of our Wine Courses, and with Pass rates at 96%, Fine Wine Works are now in their 18th year as an Approved Programme Provider for the WSET®. We run internationally recognised and accredited qualification courses for Yacht Crew and anyone interested in Wine. As we are primarily a wine supplier for yachts, our courses take place in the Spring and Autumn when crew are less likely to be busy onboard.
Your educator for this course will be Helen who holds the WSET® Diploma with Honours and is also a Certified Educator for WSET® so you are in very safe hands! Helen will be assisted by Amy who holds the WSET® Level 3 Award in Wine with Distinction.
